win 2000 cdroms not working

I just recently installed Win 2000 on a machine and now the CDrom drives have an error,(tells me, the drivers are wrong) i tried to uninstall them, reinstall and still not working..any ideas?? Thank you

You can try visiting the manufacturer's website (your CD-ROM) and look for newly released drivers for Win2000.
I also have a problem with my DVD-ROM drive, it suddenly does not appear in "My Computer" anymore, I only see my Floppy drive A: and Hard Drive C: ... that's all, I used to have a DVD-ROM drive D: but now it's gone.

I have a similar problem with my DVD-rom on my IBM Laptop T22 running win2k. When I try uninstalling it it is detected on reboot as hitachi gd-s200 but cant get the drivers to get it to work. Kindly assist by e-mailing the drivers. This problem just started the other day as the DVD-rom was working perfectly. Pls help

I had a similar problem that was related to an incompatible version of roxio. I don't remember what the exact version was. If this could be your problem check microsofts knowledgebase for the fix. If I remember right you have to edit the registry to get everything working.
