Why can't I ping my Win2K m/c?

I can't ping my Win 2K laptop from any other machine on my home network (pinging by IP address or by name). The other computers are a Pocket PC or desktops running Win 95 and Win 98 - I can ping them from my Win 2000 machine but not the other way around.
I don't have any personal firewall software on my Win2K machine and IPSEC is not in effect, nor is TCP/IP filtering

Try creating user/computer accounts on the Win2K PC for the others to access. I believe the problem rests with FAT16/FAT32 PC's not being seen on the network where Win2K is possibly running NTFS.

Thanks Moose - I do have the Guest account set up (and it still doesn't work) but I have a hard job believing that is the problem - this is just a PING that is not getting responded to - I don't care about being able to see it in Network Neighborhood - I just want to PING it :-(
Cheers

Ok, so the first advice wasn't my best offering (I don't like being sloppy).
Better suggestions might be to check for the existence of and/or proper configuration of tcp/ip. You can try an uninstall/reinstall the protocol as well. Also try a loopback ping. Lastly, are all PC's in the same workgroup?
