Comment:

None of my Windows default sounds are in the "Sounds and Audio Devices" in the "Control Panel". "Windows Logon/Logoff", "Empty Recycle",etc. all have "None" in the "Sounds" spot with nothing available in the dropdown. My other PC has a variety available and this one used to. How can I restore these sounds. Thanks in advance.

go to start, control panel, sounds

Adjust audio to your soundcard. If its greyed out you got a problem with your soundcard.
