I am fixing a womans computer, and I had to completly rebuild it. It has a brand new motherboard that supports the processor and ram, so I know that is not the problem. I tried to install Win2k Pro from the CD but was not able to install, so I created boot disks from a friends computer that is also running Win2k Pro. The computer is able to recognize the boot disks, but after the 4th one it says Windows is starting, and then it shuts down, and never comesback up again. If anybody has any suggestions or solutions, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

I had the same problem last year. Turned out to be a faulty peice of RAM. I removed it and the restarts stopped. Dunno if you tried that already.
