Hi,
What's the equivalent for msconfig in win98 for win2K. That is where do I get rid of the annoying files that get loaded automatically whenever I boot the PC?

For 98, the equivalent is msconfig. There isn't msconfig for w2k although there is a 3rd party tool like it that I'm sure one of the good people in here will provide.
Msconfig has returned in XP though.

Go to www.google.com and type in "Startup Control" (without the quotes) It's a nice little freeware app made my Mike Lin that does the same job as msconfig...only better IMHO.

you can just remove what you dont want from the registry. that all msconfig does. its under the following key Hkey_local_machine>Software>Microsoft>Windows>Currentversion>RUN
Remove what you dont want. That is the hard way to do it though A+ NET+ MCP MCSA MCSE
