Hi all,
i have been having alot of trouble with my auction-bought Compaq Armada M700 P3 600mhz, 256 ram laptop. When i installed win2000 on it all the devices are listed in Device Manager - though the network card is not. It sits in "Other devices" as "Ethernet Controller"
I have no idea how to determine what drivers to you, what sort of card it is or whatever. I used Belarc system adviser tool to get the specs of the comp and it did not list my network card under "Communications hardware" !! does this mean it is faulty/damaged? or just needs the driver?
I also tested Knoppix cd-bootable linux on it, and tried to configure network card - it said error accessing eth0 Network card.
someone please help, advise me on what i can do
thank you kindly
-Allan G

Hi Allan G
Try here at the Compaq/HP Drivers site
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/Armada/us/locate/20_1009.html
Down the list, there is a section for Network drivers.
Good luck
