Hi Everyone!

i got weird problem for my computer. I bought one DELL LAPTOP from the auction and it has W2K but the system is locked and I don't know the password. So, can I install windows once again? Is there any way to resolve this problem?

yeah you need to format and reinstall... if not, and u want the data which was on the laptop, there are other ways in which you can obtain the password but i would think they arent worth it - so format and reinstall...

Here is a little trick I figured out, start up with a windows 98 startup disk. Delete the SAM file in windows or winnt\system32\config and restart. When your get to the log on screen, log in as administrator, leave the password blank and hit enter, it should log you in. To restore the SAM file and the password, simply change it. Hope that helps.
