Looking for some tech help here-
Our non-profit lost our server recently. Server is back up, but our website, which 'lived' (and was hosted) on the site is NOT back up.

I have looked at IIS services- tried a few things, but no luck. Am familiar with windows- but not with this side of things.

The data is right where it always was, but am not sure what needs to be done to 'reconnect' website so it is once again accessible. Even the 'help' from MS is a bit beyond what I seem to understand.

I am seeking a basic, "start here, then try this" kinf of thing< i Guess.

Anyone care to help us? Or suggest a site that covers this sort of thing?

(We are rather rural, so a visit from a pro is rather beyond our finances.)

ANY help appreciated!

Directory Listing Denied
This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed

I get a 403 error so that means that DNS is working. The permissions aren't correct. That's all.

http://www.tilinet.org/index.htm works, but automatically redirects to http://www.tilinet.org/index.html which is missing.

I assume the "Directory Listing Denied" message is due to the fact that the server expects to find a default index.html, does not, and assumes a directory listing is requested.

Can you browse the webpage in IIS? Start there first. If its not working on the localhost its not going to work anywhere else.

You can check it from localhost but don't forget, in most cases, you are using an internal IP that way and not going over the net.
