Subject: W2K w/ sp4 - WON'T UPDATE ???
OS: W2K
CPU/Ram: PENT/512
Comment:
Running W2K with SP4

When trying to get the security updates (it's been a while)....it will list 57 High Priority Updates...but reports a download size of Zero and an approx download time of Zero.

This seems odd, since it lists each of the pending updates...but then sez 0 size//time.

When I do click the "INSTALL UPDATES" button...it will just zip through the list in about a second...then mark all the listed updates as "Failed."

I do not have an active firewall.

Other W2K computers on the same network...with essentially the same setup...have updated fine.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

You need to have Windows Genuine Advantage installed in order to DL the rollup.

Can that be downloaded individually and installed?

I don't see it listed in my update history.

Also...I looked closely and the needed updates list. When reading the details of each....they all say "downloaded and ready to install."

So, I guess that's why the needed download space/time was Zero...all the file are already downloaded...they just will not install.
