I'm getting a stop error (blue screen) during Windows start-up with the following error: Stop: C000026c \systemRoot\system32\drivers device driver could not be loaded Error status was 0xc0000020 If this is the first time you encounter.... I tried to boot into the safe mode (which was successful) and disabled as many as unnecessary device drivers as I could but still gets the same error when I tried to boot into normal mode. I also tried using emergency repair disk but also without success. This happened after I tried (unsuccessfully) installing a USB device driver for a digital voice recorder, which failed because some other required driver had problem (I think it was something like "multimedia audio controller", listed under "other" in device manager but I could not locate a driver for that anywhere). Any hint is greatly appreciated. Thanks. Shawn

Did you try booting into "last known good configuration"?

I tried booting into "last known good ..." but didn't work either. From the error message I couldn't tell exactly which device is causing the problem, as it says only "\SystemRoot\system32\drivers".
