Is it possible for a W2K server to act as a BDC in an NT4 domain and handle DHCP, WINS, and user manager for the domain?

There shuld not be any problem.
Just configue it right.
The "Configure your server" can probably help you.

The win2k server can do DHCP and WINS, and it can manage users, but it won't be a true BDC, in that it won't authenticate users like your current PDC, and if you loose the PDC, the win2k can't be promoted to a PDC.

The Win2k server can NOT be an NT 4 BDC. If you want it to serve DHCP and WINS, you can. However, it will only be a member server in the NT 4 domain. Furthermore, it will not be able to authenticate user/computer accounts. Only domain controllers can do that.
