I have a W2K server and and Win98 PC. In Win98, I connected to the server shares Drive "P" and Drive "S", and it worked for hours or days without any problems.

I have since installed W2K Pro on the Win98 PC, as a dual boot. After running W2K for maybe 2 hours, I'm not quite sure, my applications cannot access the network drive letters. I get an error message that the drive letter could not be restored because it's already in use.

I assume this is a disconnect timeout, but where should I look for this? The server is a PDC, the W2K Pro machine is a member of the domain, and I can log in just fine.

Any ideas?

Ryan

I'd suggest double-checking your network settings such as your DNS server and DHCP server stuff (if you're running DHCP). And you might also try installing Service Pack 2 on the workstation and see if that makes a difference....
