How do i automatically log off users from w2k machine after a specific idle time. I tried to set it up in the settings but it did not work.

In order to do this you will need to have a Window 2000 domain and Windows 2000 clients. You can set what you are looking for in Group Policy. Open the Group Policy object for the domain or OU you want the policy applied to. The setting you are looking for is in Computer Configuration|Windows Settings|Security Settings|Local Policies|Security Options. Configure the 'Amount of idle time required before disconnecting session' parameter to the number of minutes desired before automatically logging them off.
