W/2000 does not support my sound and modem drivers
For several problems I had to change my operating system to W/2000. Now I can't use neither my modem nor my sound adapters. It reads as follows: W/2000 does nor support the ESS Fax/Data/Voice Modem. Also for my sound adapter which came attached to the mother board (no card) a CMI8330/C3D Audio Adapter says that W/2000 does not support it. Do I have to buy two new cards? Please need your help...
If the manufacturer of your hardware is still in business and willing to write compatable drivers the answer is NO.......but you may have to wait until then. Much of my hardware is older legecy stuff.........which is better supported under windows 2k. Its not Microsofts fault the hardware people sat around and did nothing about making drivers for there products.

Hi Antonio,
I don't know about your modem but your soundchip is made by Cmedia and they tend to have fairly recent Win2K drivers on their site: www.cmedia.com.tw
