I am trying to get the disk quota feature of group policy to work and am not able to make it happen for W2000. I have tried the following configuration:
In the actual OU's group policy:
* Computer System\Administrative Templates\System\Disk Quota-I enabled disk quota, denied access to users exceeding disk quota, and placed max to 25MB(standard image to create profile per user is 23.3MB)
* User and machine are both in OU and both linked to the group policy.Local Machine configuration:
HDD format is NTFSUser can login to machine creating initial profile of 23.3MB but can continue to copy files to their desktop exceeding the 25MB quota.
I have tried in group policy hiding A,B, & C drives but cannot figure a way to remove the "Desktop" as a "Save to" option. I have gone into the Default User\Desktop and All Users\Desktop folder and marked both as "Read Only" and "Hidden" but that does not affect a new user. I can make it work after a person authenticates and they do not have write permission to their desktop.
I think I have tried everything but maybe I am missing something simple. Our corporate policy mandates the enduser does not save any files to their local machine and I need some help. Please advise.
