I bought this Canoscan N 650U a couple of day ago. After the support people from Canon and the supp people from Dell send me fishing I am on my own to fix this problem. I have installed the drivers for the scanner and everytime the scanner starts and I select an application to use an error comes out: AnyApp.exe - Application error, Module "0506065.."...... Memory could not be "read". If I click on Ok that application will be terminated if I select Cancel I am sent in VC++ to debugg the app- where an Access violation error prompts in for that app. Now, I found this explination at http://www.beyondlogic.org/porttalk/porttalk.htm about I/O ports access errors and I wonder if this is it. People from Canon deny this is a driver problem. People from Dell W2000 support deny is a W2000 prob. Please Help.
