I have a home LAN, here is the physical layout: cable modem --> linksys router --> switch --> clients/server.
The server is a W2K with 2 NICs with RRAS/NAT configured and working, one NIC is internal and attached to the switch, the 2nd NIC is external and attached to the router.
private LAN has its own subnet 192.168.22.xx, while the Router uses its default 192.168.1.1 and gives the W2K server external NIC an ip address in that range.
Is it possible with these private ip addresses on the servers external NIC and the router for me to configure the server as a VPN server? if so, how do i do it?

Did you ever work out your server hard drive issue?
Imagine the power if you knew how to internet search

Perhaps this will help

I am confused on how a private LAN network can be accessed through the public internet using VPN technology!
Here is my LAN setup. I have cable Internet access so I have a cable modem, a linksys 5 port router (bought from local computer store) and a linksys 5 port switch (bought from local computer store). One W2K server with 2 NICs, the 1st NIC is connected to the router for the external connection, while the 2nd NIC is connected to the switch for the internal private LAN connection. (All the client computers are connected to the switch also)
The router gives itself a 192.168.1.1 ip address and hands the servers an ip address in the same 192.168.1.xx range.
I have a DHCP server in the private LAN handing out ip addresses in the range of 192.16.17.xx 255.255.255.248.
I don't understand how i can setup a VPN on the server so clients can connect to this W2K server that is in a PRIVATE LAN????
Is this possible? my router has a private ip address, i am confused on how this works!!
