Using Windows 2000 Professional:
I have a work and a home network where the cable modem goes to the router and then I have machines off of that. How do I find the address that I need setup virtual private networks between them. (I don't use a domain, just normal file sharing networks).
I am guessing the address will consist of my router IP and then the router's gateway and then my computer IP??
Any Suggestions?

Modderman,

My DSL provider uses a DHCP server to automatically assign IP addresses and it is my understanding that to create a VPN you must have an assigned IP. Your DSL service should be able to provide that...at an addional cost!

Good Luck

Using the public IP address to access but you must port forward (port 3389) to the target machine's private IP address from within the router's configuration utility.
