I have setup a LAN at home, a Win2000Svr configured as a DC, DNS, NAT(2NICs), and VPN. another Win2000Svr as a DHCP server and a few 2000Pro/XP pro clients.
when I VPN in from a computer that is not part of the domain, the connection gets established but when i go to 'my network places-entire network-microsoft windows network' a workgroup is available but not the domain I am trying to access !!!
how do i setup this VPN so clients connected can go into the domain and access shared files, see other computer, etc..?

Authenticating to the Domain doesn't change the Workgroup/Domain the computer is part of. You'll either need to map a drive after authenticating to the VPN, or go to run and type \\servername\sharename and access the computers/shares that way.
Life's more painless for the brainless.

i did that \\servername\share and it didn't work. so i went to the vpn server and installed WINS on it. Then went and made the VPN connection and went to 'my network places-microsoft networks' and finally the domain i wanted access to was finally listed. I thought a WINS server was only used if pre WIN 2000 computers were used? why is the VPN finally working when I installed a WINS server, the clients are running Win2000/XP Pro?
