well, presuming that the Virus can be removed - how did you identify it as Trojan Purity ?
If you used some Anti Virus app, go to that manafactures web site and look for remove directions on that particular virus.
There are a few online Anti Virus scanners, Trendmicro has a great Online Anti Virus Scanner. Check it out. If it detects a Virus it well try to Clean it, if it can't then you have to try manually removing, if that doesn't succeed then you'll have to reinstall the OS from scratch and SCAN any meida before re-installing. Invest in a good anti Virus program after a reinstall too. Good Luck

I just want to add AVG (anti-virus freeware) and McAfee to the sites you go to. Who is your cable provider? It should have directed you to antivirus software and firewall software. Use these and keep them up-to-date!

try removal tools or evaluation version of Bitdefender (www.bitdefender.com) I was able to identify and delete the threat with that particular scan.
(anyway, look for a file pscan.exe and delete it - this is the cause of your problems)
