I just bought a computer, and all video plays back a lot faster (sounds like chipmunks)..

the video and audio both play back at double speed.

Every file type does (avi, asf, wmv, mpg), as well as every player (divx, mplayer2, media player)

Hello,
I think you are missing a bus mastering driver that controls the timing on the files you listed.

Go to My Computer>Properties>Hardware>Device manager. Look at the list for yellow question marks. Click on the devices that have the question marks and read the note to see what you need. You might have to search the Internet for the correct drivers you need to fix the minor problem. Find them then install them. You should have no problems.
