I have horizontal lines running through my graphics. Online as well as in Adobe photo.
Have clean installed W2K, intstalled a new mobo and new video card. Updated drivers, updated chipset. Tried new monitor. Same problem is still there. Am at wits end. Can someone please advise? Thank you.

yes, i am afraid it is.
I have also taken out the floppy and all cdr, cdrw and zip drives. Nothing in there but Nic, video, sound card, mouse and KB.
Like i said, swapped out MB, video card and monitor. Formatted and installed 2000, used to have W98 with same problem, but i fixed it in W98 by disabling active desktop. Can't find a fix and am desperate...someone, please help!!!

what kind of video card is it?

i had a similar problem with an old 32MB pci video card.
chances are it's not a hardware problem, if turning active desktop off seemed to fix it; it might be in the BIOS.

hit the DELETE key during bootup to enter the BIOS setup.

try disabling CPU to PCI write buffer, which should be in PnP/PCI configurations.
also, try disabling "video BIOS cacheable" in the chipset configurations.

let us know if that works.

Thank you for your suggestions, A. I tried them all to no avail. I have since swapped out power supplies, memory and took the computer next door to rule out elect. interference. Tomorrow, i will swap out CPU and that will make a 100% change of every single component. Will let you know how i make out. There is absolutely NO information on the net that addresses this particular problem!
