Since I installed Win 2k I've noticed that every time I try to play a video file in either Real Player or Quicktime format, it gives me the IRQ blue screen of death either before, during, or after playing said video file. I don't have ACPI enabled and no IRQ's are being shared. Additionally, I can't change the IRQ #'s b/c the option to change IRQ's is ghosted. Would disabling IRQ steering allow me to change IRQ's? Does it matter what IRQ # devices use (ie. sound card and video card), or are all IRQ #'s equal? Hopefully someone has a solution.

Why are you tinking this is ACPI or IRQ caused ? The Video cards IRQ is most commonly configured in the BIOS. This sounds like the current Video Display Drivers is NOT 100% compatable with the Video Card. It's not a given that the automaticly detected Video Driver is the most efficient or most accurate. Obtain Windwos 2000 provided drivers from the manfacturer if possible. If Not, just as a control test, use a different Video Card ans see if the same issues results with the Play back. Good Luck

He thought it was ACPI because ACPI is garbage and usually causes problems like this. I've experienced it myself on 5 different machines with dramatically different hardware configs.
