Strange problem.
Have a small number of PC & Laptops on a LAN.
It's on a BT 500 service.
Downstream is very quick. Upstream is a dog with 2 legs!
Most PC's connect also to Exchange 5.5
1 PC doesn't default to Exchange and is very fast upstream.
This is the clue, but as yet I don't know why!
I guess Exchange is the problem but not sure why?
Also using a vpop client on an NT Server to make the connection to the ISP's smtp server!
I don't think I need mail to go through Exchange, only for internal mail, but it has to be there for CC'd mail etc...Any ideas anyone?

ADSL means different up and downstream speeds. Upstream bandwidth is usually around 112 Kb, divide that among multiple users and you will have a dog with 2 legs. I would suggest you try a connection speed site or two. Here is one that will test both up and down speeds. Also check with your provider for the rates speeds you are paying for. Here is the address of the test: http://www.pcpitstop.com/internet/

Thanx, but you missed the point I was trying to make!
Thanx anyway!********************
"1 PC doesn't default to Exchange and is very fast upstream."
********************The upspeed is fine on one of the PC's, which means there is a configuration problem somewhere and was hoping for someone to point me in its direction!?
I know & have tested up & down-stream speeds!
I'm the Admin, that = GOD so I can kick off users at will and run all the tests I want!Thanx anyone for insite to this problem which I'm guessing is linked to Exchange/Outlook!
