Hi, i would appreciate anyone who can help me get VCDs to play under W2k. For some reason it doesn't allow me to play VCDs with any available VCD software player. I've tried using Windows Media Player, it will read then stop saying that the file format is not supported. This similar error happens with XingMpegPlayer (NT) and PowerDVD. Stange thing is that i can still read off the CDs (opening folders, copying etc.) but i ultimately cannot play/run DAT files. ".MPG" files work. I have a standard 40x CD-ROM.

Please help!

Hi,

I also faced similar problems with W2K, that at one stage system restarted while the file was being opened by Xing MPEG player!

Then I got Datanorden VCD-Player 6.0
from download.com

In the mainpage www.download.com enter VCD player and hit search and you will get it!

I was previously using this with NT and it works on 2000 also!

I just completed viewing a full-screen movie

cheers
