Comment:

I often see downloads on sites for these different updates, such as VB5 runtime, VB6 runtime, etc. but I was wondering do I need to install all of these, or will VB6 for example eliminate the need for installing VB5? I was just curious because I have problems with VB based applications on my Windows 2000 machine, most of them giving me errors, and I was wondering if something maybe missing. I dont have these problems on other machines (different Operating systems)

Any help appreciated.

Alex

Normally, a VB run time error within the application that you are using will generate the VB filename you need. In most of my cases, I needed vbrun300.dll (for older programs written in VB3)... Most programs that you will encounter that are not "stone age" will be covered with the VB6 dynamic link libraries.
