Hi.

I want to make an image of a Windows 2000 PC.
In the source computer I type SYSPREP -QUIET
Then the computer shuts down and then I use Ghost to make an image.

When I use the image to install a new PC (the PCs have the same Hardware) I need to type the Windows Licence number, computer name, password, etc.

How can I do so when I use ghost to install the image, I have no screens to type information (Windows Licence number, computer name, password, etc). I dont want to use a floppy disk, only with the image (the image is inside CDs).

thanks for your help.

James

This is really a ghost question but look in your Ghost manual. There is a tab in Ghost for Sysprep that will address the issues that you have. You still may need to use a floppy though. You'll need an answer file for sysprep to use. I'm not sure if Ghost can get around it or not but what you are seeing is a sysprep issue. Sysprep removes the name, license key, etc by design. Read your Ghost manual, it may outline how to do that.

Thanks for your answer.

I put the answer file in c:\sysprep. Then execeute sysprep -quiet. I clone the machine using ghost. Then when the image is in the CD I change the image in the destination machine and the answer file is executed automatically.

I add a line so that the licence number will not apperar any more.

ProductID= xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx

Thanks again!!!
