my user can not insall the publish software throught active directory. But when i log in as administrator i ma allow to install the published software. User and administrator account are in the same OU and the software is published to the user and I. But when the try to install the Published software,a message pops up and says "need administrator privilege to install. I think that defeats the purposes of publishing software to user if thier not able to install it. by the way i am tring to deploy a .zap file. CAN ANY ONE HELP ME PLEASE.

Wekk, MSI Installed Packages are designed for Enterprise Group Application distribution.
ZAP is a 2nd option for NON MSI apps and programs which can be customized for Wide Spread Distribution.
One option is to create a limited Global logon that has Only limited local rights on the PC's.
Look at the Article Best Practices for Using Update.msi to deploy Service Packs. Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 278503
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;278503
Note the part : " Installations that use .zap files require the user to be logged on as the local administrator "
And of course you already now : HOW TO: Publish non-MSI Programs with .zap Files Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 231747
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;231747
So, it's by design. But your right it kind of defaeats the purpse. unless you go around it with a limited Local user Logon (very limited, no Domain Admin privlidges, just local) Good Luck
