Okay, kids. Here is a challenge for ya. I am currently cleaning up my neices computer. HAd to replace the Video card and then I did some cleaning on her PC. Well, from the first I noticed her profile locks up. BUT it will allow me to CTRL-ALT-DEL and logoff her profile and come in thru the administrator profile. Well, i figured she had screwed up her profile somehow so I created a new one and then transferred settings. Well, it came up fine a few times and started the same crap. I spent a day cleaning Adware and spyware from her PC. It was cluttered. Defragged and cleaned. Well, the damn thing will not let this go. Only thing i notice is that when i switch accts to administrator i get that explorer needs to close message and then I have to hit 'end now'. Anyone have any ideas? I have spent way more time on this than i want. Esp. with a 13 yr old girl screaming for her computer back. Yes, I have run Symantec AV on this PC with the latests Defs., no luck. I work with computers for a living and this is one of those weeks where PC probs turn into rebuild issues. Destroy this unlucky streak of mine. Any help would be appreciated.

What programs can run with a profile? - scripts - desktop settings/themes - network connections - ...what else?

Well, the only thing that starts up automagically anymore is AIM and Symantec AV. She has something on her PC that keeps adding new s--- to her computer. I dont know if its AIM or what...I have cleaned crap as thoroughly as I can. But the strange thing is, i can log into the admin acct and then logout of it and then log into her profile and it comes up fine. Its only when i restart the computer that her profile locks.

no matter what you do, pop-ups will keep popping up; ad-aware only removes whats mostly on the outside; there are things inside your registry here and there; best thing is to format it and monitor the PC
