USB printer problem

My USB isn't working properly! Whenever I try to connect my HPdeskjet 940c or my EPSON STYLUS CXS5400 printer it won't work. I already tried looking for updates/drivers, Windows Install Wiz, and other crap (i only connect 1 printer @ a time). I NEED HELP TRYING TO GET MY PRINTER(s) TO WORK THROUGH USB.

For your HP go to their site, you should have a disk for them when you check your update or have a problem they can run a scan as to why and send a fix immediately over the internet works great, I have a 5650 installed drivers and software with their disk then went to their site for update and they redid everything with no problems, as far as the Epson maybe you should check there web site I have found the trick with everything on xp is to install software first then drivers then update at their website, I don't let xp do it and have not had a problem installing hardware that way.

The USB controller may not be functioning. Look in the hardware config under USB. If it says: Unsupported USB controller, you need to install the chipset drivers for the USB controller. Just had this problem on a Compaq Presario. I had to install: usbf_110.zip to get the controller to work.
