i have the same problem with my thinkpad 600 running on windows 2000 that i found in buying the computer as second hand:the usb connector does not function and i cannot access to it even in the thikpad device manager. is it a problem of driver? where can i found the correct driver or the solution?

Hi Patrick
If the Device Manager does not show Universal Serial Bus Controller, then maybe USB is not enabled in the BIOS.
When the computer first boots, go into the BIOS Setup to check that USB is enabled.
Good luck

Here is some information on how to enable USB in Thinkpads...
For ThinkPad A, G, R, T, and X series
Turn on the computer.
Look for the message in the lower left area of the screen.
If it says: "Press F1 for IBM BIOS Setup Utility", press the F1 key.
If it says: "To interrupt normal startup, press the blue Access IBM button", press the blue Access IBM button.
Double-click Start setup utility.
The IBM BIOS Setup Utility menu will be displayed.
If a password prompt appears, type the correct password.
Select Config and then click USB.
The window should list USB BIOS support as [Enabled].For ThinkPad 600, 600E, 770, 770E/ED, 770X, and 770Z
Press and hold the F1 key and then turn on the computer.
Hold the F1 key until the Easy-Setup menu appears.
If a password prompt appears, type the correct password.
Select Config.
Select Initialize and then click OK.
Click Exit, click Restart, and then click OK to restart the system
