i want to buy a CDRW exteral, and its USB 2.0! and i know that my comp doesnt have 2.0, it prolly has 1.x! so if i buy this CDRW and plug it into my comp will it work ??

The technical answer is yes, it will work. Part of the USB 2.0 specifications is that it be bacward compatible with USB 1.0 and in bewteen. However, you will data will only transmit at the rate of the slowest connection. So even though one device is USB 2.0, you will only get USB 1.x speeds. That means you probably won't be able to burn CD's at any faster that 4x or 6x, because I think that was the max USB 1.x CD writers could read data.

You would be better of buying a 4port USB 2.x PCI card................
