urls getting modified in IE

I got a new DSL connection and when I try to get online using my IE all the urls gets modified. for eg. if type www.yahoo.com the url changes to www.www.yahoo.com.net. All the urls are changed in the similar fashion. Hence I get the Page not displayed error. I tried installing spyware doctor software but this too did not helped. Can anyone please tell me what could be problem. Thanks in advance. Umesh Gaikwad
