i have a problem i have to solve before 17:30 (2.5 hours). I have set up outlook 2000 on a laptop and configured it to send and receive mail from the same server, it works for incoming but not for outgoing. The message is "unable to connect to server : SMTP server, error 0x800ccc0e. I have tried to find some info on this but failed. Please help

Recreate the mail account on another PC and make sure you have the correct information. Sometimes all it is is a single character out of place... If that works, REenter the account information. Double check to make sure all the dvices are working. Look under your Event Viewer to see if there are any reported errors in the logs. Make sure the correct numbers are entered in the network settings (TCP/IP, or whatever you're running). And drink more cafeine.......

Some ISP's prevent sending mail through other providers. Use you ISPs settings for SENDING only. This should get you around and it it should be invisible to sender and reciver!
