How do I upgrade from windows 98 to 2000, (I have it on CD), without losing my existing information, programs and drivers? I have Amdk6, 533 Mhz, 32M, to drivers 6G. Please help. Thanks

Upgrade away!!! You won't lose any info by updateing!! You have to update your drivers but otherwise no change, other than Win98 becoming W2K! ;)

Thought that I would point out that the minimum requirements for win 2K is 64Mb Ram. I would suggest a minimum of 128Mb and 256Mb for Server. Also check the HCL (Hardware compatability List) to make sure your hardware will work with 2000. See http://www.microsoft.com/hwtest/hcl You can also do a compatability report. For this you Run the winnt32/checkupgradeonly command from the 2000 disk or download the Readiness Analyser from http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/upgrade/compat/default.asp

Summary: I've 1 PDC, 2 BDC. I've upgraded PDC to Windows 2000. After AD installed, I've upgraded basic disk to dynamic disk, then Windows 2000 crash... So, I removed the Windows 2000 server and promote one BDC...
