Upgrading to Win 2000 from Win ME

I am trying to upgrade my OS from Win ME to Win 2000 and I keep getting an error: Setup will not continue because Windows doesn't recognize the current OS installed. So it's not recognizing my Windows ME install what can I do to get around this error? Please Help!!!

I not sure why.....but I dont think you can upgrade Win2k from ME......I could be wrong on this.

I did. From 98 to ME then ME to 2000 Pro. No problems. Inserted CD and it came up each time that the CD contained a newer OS and did I want to update. It even converted my FAT32 ME to NTFS. Only problem now is getting the HP SureStore CD Writer to work!!

Could you check which build of Windows 2000 you have??? Is it the OEM or the Retail version? Also which build of ME do you have OEM or Retail???
