i just did an upgrade from ME to Win2K.
Everything pretty much went smoothly, until my
computer will not detect my modem. My modem
is a 56k v90 internal modem that came with my
HP. I've tried using the standard drivers that are
included with Win2K, but my computer won't even
acknowledge that I have a modem plugged in. I
know that the modem isn't faulty because it
worked perfectly until i upgraded. Do i need to
get a driver? will the Windows Service Pack fix
this problem? help!

Hi,

check out in Device Manager if any "Unknown Device" or "PCI Card" is present then it is a definately problem of drivers. Otherwise if it is not listed then open up the cabinet and change the slot in which ur modem is fixed.

Try looking on www.driverguide.com for drivers to download. There's also a tool to back-up your drivers which might be handy next time you might need to install them for any reason.
