Comment: i just did an upgrade from ME to Win2K. Everything pretty much went smoothly, until my computer will not detect my modem. My modem is a 56k v90 internal modem that came with my HP. I've tried using the standard drivers that are included with Win2K, but my computer won't even acknowledge that I have a modem plugged in. I know that the modem isn't faulty because it worked perfectly until i upgraded. Do i need to get a driver? will the Windows Service Pack fix this problem? help!

Reply: (edit)Hi, check out in Device Manager if any "Unknown Device" or "PCI Card" is present then it is a definately problem of drivers. Otherwise if it is not listed then open up the cabinet and change the slot in which ur modem is fixed.

Reply: (edit)Try looking on www.driverguide.com for drivers to download. There's also a tool to back-up your drivers which might be handy next time you might need to install them for any reason.
