I'm Upgrading My bios on my 5300 solo gateway laptop because it's running to hot. Everytime I try and flash it i get a non-system disk error message. I've tried a IBM formatted disk and a system disk....they both get the same error message..any advice would be a great help. Thanks

Does that mean you can't boot on a floppy?

If at first you don't succeed, you're about average.

In the BIOS is where you tell it which device to boot to. As for the heat, not much you can do about it, when the system is active and not in standby, it is going to generate some heat. So you are saying it is just uncomfortable to use, not that the cpu is overheating then, correct?
