I am trying to update Microsoft's C++ runtime library. I need to do this to install some anti-virus software on the machine. I am downloading from the cite:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...

When I do this, I receive the error message:
Error: 1723 - There is a problem with the download, a required DLL is missing.

What should I do?

Windows Installer Error 1723

Are you downloading the file, or attempting to run from your browser?

Probably best to download it completely to your drive before installing, - as well, (from the M$ 'cite'): Windows Installer 3.1 or later is recommended

I'm not one of those who think Bill Gates is the devil. I simply suspect that if Microsoft ever met up with the devil, it wouldn't need an interpreter.

I have tried it both ways but I still
get the same error message. Any other ideas?
