Reply: Double-click it and uncheck the "Show Unplug/Eject Icon on the Taskbar" box in the lower lefthand corner

Reply: Or go into device manager, and find the problem device, and update its drivers so that there is no conflict. The unplug/eject icon will then disappear.

Reply: The Unplug/Eject icon doesn't show up in the systray because of a device conflict- Win 2000 allows "hotswapping" of a lot of peripherals that weren't swappable before. For example, laptops that have 2 drives but only one bay previously had to be shut down, drive swapped, then rebooted or a drive switch wasn't recognized. With W2K, you can just open the Wizard from the taskbar and swap or remove without reboot. If Kyle is using a desktop PC, the icon is probably just referring to the modem or some other standard hardware and all he has to do is uncheck the "Show Unplug/Eject Icon on the Taskbar" box to get rid of it.
