I bought a new computer - no os loaded and loaded win2000 but now want to upgrade to winxp pro but says it cant because the ftdisk.sys is corrupt. I tried to uninstall win2000 and couldnt. Do I have to wipe everything off and then load wp? I tried to boot from the cd/dvd drive but it wont read the disk from there - it just goes on to the win2000 page and loads it. I have checked the bios and it has the cd/dvd as 1st. Any ideas?

It would seem that your XP CD is not bootable, corrupted/scratched CD ??
