After loading Norton Internet Security, when the system reboots I get the Unexpected Kernel Mode Trap (STOP 0x0000007F) and then the system perpetually reboots itself.

After lots of experimentation, here is how I resolved it (this is a combination of three individual fixes I found):

1. Removed IRPStackSize registry entry. Info at http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2000092713243506?Open&src=sg&docid=2001060413174136&nsf=nip.nsf&view=429934053165308488256d8e0076af48/ccec3e8ddc75116c88256a61006ecc71?opendocument&prod=norton%20internet%20security&ver=2004%20for%20windows%2098/me/2000&dtype=&prod=Norton%20Internet%20Security&ver=2004%20for%20Windows%2098/Me/2000/XP&osv=&osv_lvl=

2. Add KStackMinFree registry entry. Info: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/docid/2002071208532048?Open&src=w - I used the AnitVirus 8.x solution

3. Updated video drivers through Windows Update service.

I did all this through safe mode w/ network support - couldn't get in any other way.
