hi,
for those who reply . .thanks in advance and i appreciate your help. .
heres my problem. . i had just finished installing win2k...everytime i want to log on to windows i have to log in with a user name and password . .i disable it by removing(deleting my user name) it thinking that i wouldn't have to log in anymore. .but when i rebooted . .the log on screen came up again . .my user name and pasword no longer works because i had removed it .. now i cant get in . . .what should i do ???

Can you login under the local administrator account? If so, login as admin and recreate your account.

If you never changed the login or password, by default the login is:
login: administrator
password:

Unless specified during the install the administrator password is left blank.

Hey Roger,

Your best bet is to probalbly download a Linux boot disk for passwords. The disk will reset the login to the default. Also, I was told that you could delete your .SAM file, but I don't know the specifics on that, it may be too risky. Type "recovering administrator password in win2000" in any search engine and I'm sure you'll be logging back on in no time.
