Hello,
I have read about someone having this problem but cannot recall where, and what solution was suggested.
I had virus and malware problems on my laptop and attempted to download Kaspersky IS to clean things up.
Kaspersky would not open at all and I presumed it was an issue with W2000.
However, I have now tried loading AVG and Avanti4 from cd and memory stick and the same thing happens every time:
When I click the setup file an icon flashes on the screen and nothing loads.
If I ask to download online, I hit the OK button and the page closes down!!
In the responses I read before, someone suggested that this is malware that 'knows' some of the more popular antivirus products and will not let them in.
I am concerned about what might be infecting my laptop, and my sanity - if I don't get a solution soon!!
I will be grateful for any assistance.
Thankyou
Neil

That's very possible. Try renaming the program before you go to install it...that way the virus won't recognize it.

You can also try doing going to a web based online scan to scan for viruses...

Haven't used this one yet if anyone has any feedback..

If have Java and you can't load the web pages, then you most likely you have a virus other other malware preventing you from taking steps to remove it. You'll have to do an offline scan and removal.

Assume that I already did an Internet search.

Try running while in Safe Mode without networking.

I tried the renaming but it still closed the page when I hit return!?!

I will try safe mode.
