Comment:

Just purchased a 60g portable HD with USB connection. When I tried to partition and format it I got the msg that the volumn was too large using fat32. only way I could do it was using ntfs. Is this a problem with usb connection? Eventually I made 2 partitions the largest 32g and I could format using fat32. Any ideas?
Thanks

Look at

NOTE : Windows 2000 only supports FAT32 file system upto 32Gigs.

The Key is FAT32 has a design limit of 2tetrabytes (or something like that). But that doesn't mean windows supports the MAX limit. So - NTFS Baby

They say it's because once you Get so large the amount of Space Saving is minimized.
