Unable to connect printer to LAN

I have a small LAN with seven computers, all with Windows 2000 Pro. There is one computer that has a HP LaserJet 1100. When I try to add the printer from the other computers, and I click on the list of computers, the computer with the HP won't open (it won't drop down to show the printer). The computer is properly shared, and the permissions are what they are supposed to be. I have added full control to the users of the other computers in the network, and also to everyone, but I still cannot get the printer to install. What am I doing wront?

If you can find the PC in My network places, expand it until you see the printer you want to install, double click on the printer and it will install just like that.

That's the problem. When I expand it, it won't let me see the printer.

In my network places, if the printer is shared correctly you don't need to expand the PC, it should be waiting. Try from the run line, \\"pc_name" and see what comes up, if you have the right permissions and the printer is shared correctly it should appear.

Hello, Steve. I did that, and I got prompted for an Administrator username and password. I did that, and it accepted the printer. When I went to print a test page, it won't print, but the printer says "ready".
