Comment: When I try and boot pc, the only thing I get is a black screen and only the letter "LI" are displayed. At this point it just hangs and goes no further. I have try repairing using WIN2K-PRO CD(NO LUCK!!!). Now, I'm able to boot this machine up using a bootable diskette. I'm able to see all files, move, copy, etc. When I try starting windows by going directly to the windows directory and issuing the "WIN" command, I get the following message "Invalid VxD dynamic link called from CDUDF(03) + 0000019D to device 048B service 1". Invalid windows configuration. I'm given the option to press "Y" to continue or "N" to stop. When I press "Y", I get the following message - "A resource or devicerequired by VFAT is not present or is unavailable, VFAT can not continue loading. SYSTEM HALTED. Any suggestion...

Reply: It's sounds like to you had Linux loaded on this computer at one time and LILO is still present.. there is only one way to remove this small partiton that LILO still has... You will need to use the debug command to remove all partition.. http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/Pub0009/LPMArticle.asp?ID=174

Reply: When I try to boot up, I still get a black screen with "LI" on it(After using the CD to try and repair). Since you are using CAPS, it appears that you are YELLING or SCREAMING! It really does not take all that!!! It's not worth raising your voice or getting upset. Thanks, HaloMatt

Reply: YES I was yelling - I asked a simple question - what happened, and got the same answer "no luck" which is not very informative. I AM trying to help, believe it or not, and I've been searching for an answer for you. I think the "LI" is significant - maybe to do with Linux? You can't start W2K by typing WIN in the windows folder, I'm afraid, hence the error messages.
