Umax scanner won,t work with win200

I have a Umax powerlook II scanner that wont work with my 2000 server. i have the Umax scsi card installed correctly and the scanner driver works good too but the system always locks up on reboot. This scanner previously worked good with the server. this problem developed after i did a full reinstall of the system. Please help!!!! what am i doing wrong

I had a Umax scanner (usb) that worked with Win 98. It wouldn't work with Win 2K or XP. Umax wanted $20 for the necessary drivers and when I got them I still couldn't make it work. I traded the scanner to someone with more patience and he eventually did get it operating with XP. Umax's attitude on support is virtually no support unless you pay for it. I'll never buy another product from the company.

My UMAX scanner was a SCSI on W98. When I put a W2K system in to replace that desktop UMAX said the scanner would not work with W2K, but that I could buy a different model of theirs and replace the first one. My desire for SCSI was to ba able to scan and print immediately to a parallel printer. Since I also needed a different printer it was time for an all-in-one instead. I know what you feel about UMAX and have avoided buying anything more from them too. My old scanner is in a box in the garage waiting to go to surplus.
Summary: Sounds like a memory module conflict. Don't know how many modules you have or what capacity the are but there may be a mismatch. Check to see if all the sticks are the same, eg PC100, PC133 or whateve...
