I did a stupid thing and now have two Win2000 on the same partition! Now the first one sees my files and programs (but has some unfixable TCP/IP error so I can't get online or do email) the second one gets me online, but doesn't see my programs, email files, etc.
So now what? Win2000 put everything in NTFS format, so reformating and going back to win98 means even my back-up files would be worthless, right?
What's the best way to reformat my hard drive, reinstall win2000, then restore from my back-up (which is everything except the windows/systems files)?
Thanks in advance for anyone's suggestions.

Use the first installation to delete the WINNT folder of the second one.
Then repair the first one from the CD if necessary or just reinstall it to the same
place.

The EXACT same thing happened to me: upgraded from Win 98 to 2000: couldn't access internet.
Reinstalled Win 2K: now I have two: one gets on internet, no programs, the other has programs, no internet!
HOw f---ing stupid!!!
