Hi!
I write from italy and i hope my messagge is understandable.
I have a windows 2000 server in a network.
The server has two nic with ip address in the same subnet:
1 nic) 10.0.0.1
255.0.0.0
10.0.0.2 gateway
2 nic) 10.0.0.5
255.0.0.0
Both nic connect to a switch and the switch connects
to a router adsl.
I hoped that both nic will function but it function only one.
See the route print in this page html.

How can i do for make them to work together?
(or what can I do for getting to work together? )
Thank you and i hope that help me
Ciao

Hi,

I can understand your question, but I have one of my own. Why would you want to do this?

I don't think it can be done, but you should ask in the networking forum.

I believe I understand what you are trying to do.

What you want to do is called adapter teaming. It is where, thru software, you can "team" the two nics together to act as one. You would only need one ip address for this "virtual" nic which is made up of the two nics.

I have done this but only with Intel nics. Intel has software for their nics. Other manufactures may also. I have read about 3rd party software that can do the same with different manufactures nics. Google search should get you that infor.

Otherwise having two nics only helps if you have two seperate subnets and even better if you don't need to route between them
